School has a well equipped Science Laboratory for conducting various practical works. Children are naturally inquisitive and innovative in response to a variety of problems. So they are motivated to learn practically by doing experiments and interacting with each other through practical skills, observations etc. They are able to construct knowledge by connecting new ideas to their existing ideas. Science Laboratory is a perfect place and a powerful tool for understanding and investigating life related problems. It enable children to identify where and how new researches and developments in science and technology can bring sustainable development of society.

About SSA

SSA- Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan

                                               

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is an effort to universalize elementary education by community-ownership of the school system. It is a response to the demand for quality basic education all over the country. The SSA program is also an attempt to provide an opportunity for improving human capabilities to all children, through provision of     
community-owned quality education in a mission mode. 
 

  • The S.S.A (Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan) wing of the school is playing an active role in performing various activities which enhance the teaching and learning quotient of the school. Various ambitious programs are being undertaken under the S.S.A. 
  • To meet the nutritional needs of the children the Government has started the ambitious plan of Mid-Day meal. Under this scheme food prepared in the Government run centers is served to the school children in an extremely hygienic manner, under the supervision of the teachers and assistance of the helpers who are properly clad with gloves, aprons and head gear.
  • Monthly academic meets are organized for teachers teaching classes I to VIII. These academic meets serve to update the knowledge and teaching skills of the teachers and gives them a platform to discuss the problem areas in teaching.
  • Remedial teaching is undertaken for different classes and free text books are distributed among students from I to VIII.

Examination

SCHEME OF THE EXAMINATION

 

  • The students are provided with a healthy and a positive environment where they are discouraged from learning by rote and use of experimental learning systems is strongly encouraged. The assessment systems are gradually modified to suit the demands of various classes.
  • Two terminal examinations are held in the month of September and December respectively with the weightage of 20% towards the final results. 
  • Two unit tests are conducted with the weightage of 10% towards the final results. 
  • Annual examinations are held in the month of March with the weightage of 70% towards the Final result.

No tuition fee is charged from Students. Half of the funds are charged from SC/ST girls. Students are supposed to pay Fees and Funds at the rates prescribed by the department of Education, Chandigarh.

Criteria for Admission

  • At least 40% marks in English and math for admission in Information Technology.
  • Students with low percentage are the entrails to these vocational courses but they pass out with much higher percentage, which help them to seek admission in various professional courses on the basis of merit.
  • Two months practical on The Job training in commercial organizations is a part of their curriculum which gives exposure to the students.
